The angklung is a bamboo rattle originally developed in Indonesia. Each rattle plays a specific note in the musical scale so an orchestra is made up of many rattles. Narawi Rashidi, a Sarawakian, was the leader. He first demonstrated the angklung rattles in a performance by members of the Sarawakian group "Senida." Then he invited the audience to play. Here is Nina (with a "C" rattle) playing a tune with other audience members. |
